Well, it’s taken them a fair old while in spammer terms but they have finally arrived at blog.markbarnes.org
. The delay may have been due to the fact that I don’t believe I’ve hosted a blog on this particular subdomain before; if the blog was launched on the traditional markbarnes.org domain I suspect that they would have reached us a lot quicker (the old blog had some 10,000 spam messages pass through its doors at the time of closing).
Regardless, they are here and I fear they may be staying around as well
. Let’s hope Akismet is as good at catching spam as they make out

Unless you’ve been living in a hole, not living in the UK or just don’t like F1
you’ll be well aware that ITV had the rights grabbed (albeit in a mutual backslapping ceremony
) away from them and passed to the BBC.
There has been much talk about the new team that the BBC would put in place; many fearing that we would lose the excellent commentary splashed with some dry wit of Martin Brundle as the transition takes place. However, I am pleased to report this is not the case! He, along with Ted Kravitz have jumped ship in the ocean of broadcasting and will be resuming their positions on the BBC. Our old pal Murray also makes a return appearance; this time answering questions online rather than in the commentary box.
With no adverts and what appears to be a great team in place it should be a good season for F1 coverage

I’m a very Web 2.0 person now that I use really exciting sites such as Twitter and Facebook as well as employing the use of a tag cloud on this very blog!
. Therefore, in order to give you, the illustrious reader, a weekly digest of my brain explosions that I’ve managed to cram (in less than 140 characters obviously
) onto Twitter there will be a weekly digest of all my statuses appearing on the blog in the form of a post.
If you want the insider track you can take a look at the sidebar of the blog which lists the last 5 statuses or just go visit the Twitter site.
Expect this on a Sunday evening to clear the log before the next week begins!

Giant-killers Burnley have been drawn at home to Arsenal in the Carling Cup quarter-finals.
The Championship side progressed by beating Premier League leaders Chelsea 5-4 on penalties, but face a tough test against Arsene Wenger’s young side.

Everybody send your hopes and prayers (assuming that you think some sort of God exists
) to Burnley and lets group hug and hope that we can come through the other side as semi-finalists
